Value Added Services
Sedgwick CMS offers its clients a variety of value added services as enhancements to their core claims management programs.

These include:

Business Intelligence
Sedgwick CMS views measurement as a crucial component of all claims programs. Through the Company’s data warehouse tool, Sedgwick CMS leads the industry from a benchmarking, measurement, and data analysis perspective.

The Sedgwick CMS business intelligence team supports clients and account managers by providing analytical information on the client’s program. Using Brio Explorer, a high end analytic tool and their data warehouse with over 8 million claims, they can provide trend analysis, identification of potential cost drivers, and a comparison of results to industry and Sedgwick CMS’ book of business data as available.

Call Center Services
In response to the Company’s clients’ needs, Sedgwick CMS established a call center, located in Memphis, TN. The Sedgwick CMS call center is available for toll free claim intake 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Sedgwick CMS’ call center is capable of accepting new reports for all lines of business. The Company often works with pre-filled information provided by a Human Resource data feed from their customers. The Company’s service center is staffed with trained customer service representatives who are employees of Sedgwick CMS.

Family Medical Leave Act Administration (FMLA)
FMLA administration services were developed for comprehensive intake and processing of employee leave requests. Sedgwick CMS’s leave tracking services comply with state and federal regulations and are customized to meet its clients’ needs.

Litigation Management
Sedgwick CMS employs a dedicated Litigation Management Practice Leader who is responsible for overseeing the direction and future initiatives of the Company’s litigation management services. The Company has established litigation management guidelines for liability and workers’ compensation claims. The guidelines are a tool to assist claims examiners to properly report claims to outside counsel and to establish expectations of outside counsel with respect to budgeting, reporting, billing, and handling issues associated with a litigated claim. Diligent management of litigation reduces legal expenses and drives better litigation outcomes.

Risk Control
Sedgwick CMS utilizes a two-pronged approach to minimize workers’ compensation costs. A risk control team assists clients’ organizations in preventing accidents and incidents, while the claims team works to contain the cost of any incidents that do occur.

Special Investigation Unit
Sedgwick CMS Special Investigation Unit (SIU) was developed to provide a comprehensive strategy that offers assistance to administrators in detecting and managing fraudulent claims. The unit also helps minimize future risks of fraud through enhanced information verification and intelligence capabilities.
